D&O and LEI Podcasts

In a change from a usual blog post, this week I’ve decided to shine the light on some other voices in the D&O and LEI spaces. It seems like everyone these days has a podcast, in fact there’s more around than you might think, especially for something as relatively niche as D&O insurance. The question then becomes, which ones should you listen too?

Here are some of my favourite creators and episodes (in no particular order):

Rising Edge D&O Podcast

Rising Edge are a new, London-based MGA focusing on D&O risks. Episodes are hosted by Owen Dacy (Head of Claims) and Richard Cutcher and features guests from Clyde & Co, DAC Beachcroft and DWF amongst others. Currently a limited series with 5 planned episodes, each one runs just under 30 minutes and if well worth a listen. My personal favourite being Episode 3 – UK Derivative Actions.

You can listen to the Rising Edge Podcast here: https://risingedge.co/rising-edge-podcast-blog/

Clyde & Co FID&O Podcast

Clyde & Co are a world-renown specialist insurance law-firm with over 2500 legal professionals and 50 offices across six continents. Episodes are hosted by James Cooper (Head of D&O and FI) and feature guest appearances from various Clyde & Co colleagues across different specialisms. Often around the 20-minute mark, they are perfect for a quick morning walk. Each episode is also accompanied by a downloadable insight piece. I found episode 2 of their SPACs Podcast to be very interesting.

Lockton Emerging Risk Podcast

Lockton are one of the largest insurance brokerages in the world, with over 100 officers and 8500 staff worldwide. The Emerging Risk podcast focuses on, as you might expect, emerging risks. However, they don’t just focus on D&O, but broad lines of business. For those interested in D&O, episode 3 with BLM is where to go (but episode 2 might also be of interest!)

And now, for some unashamed self-promotion:

LegalTea Podcast

Unlike the other podcasts in this list, LegalTea is designed for aspiring and current law students and designed to highlight careers outside traditional commercial law. I was fortunate enough to be asked by the host Max to feature on an episode to discuss my career as an underwriter, the LEI industry and insurance in general. Well worth a listen if I do say so myself!
